Mother Teresa said, “Love, to be real must cost. It must hurt. It must empty us of self!” The words of King David reveal the essence of love and forgiveness. "No, I must pay the full price. I won't give an offering that costs me nothing" (1 Chronicles 21:24, ICB)
To be real, it costs you something. Something about yourself, your fleshy desires, something about your time, your heart. It can even hurts, it squeezes something out of you. Now, the question is: Are you willing to Love?
Its not simply saying: ' Okay, I love you. ' Shallow. Let's go deeper.
'What passes for true love is often little more than a convenient emotional arrangement. Someone is kind to us so we are kind in return. Someone treats us badly, so we don’t get mad, we get even. Sound fair? Yes, but only in human terms. Love goes beyond reason and refuses to settle for justice alone. Love insists on granting mercy.'
Love causes one's heart to let go. Love brings one's knee down to prayer. Love awaits in a quieter measure. Love is willing to pay a significant price.
Letting go: is painful. A process of chiselling which involves allowing one's self to set apart wholeheartedly. The moment when obedience needed to come into the picture because God says so. I paused and struggled. Rebelled on the inside and at the end of the day Surrender was the word.
What's the measure of your Love for a person? I am not sure. It's letting go? Waiting? Persist w/o results? Praying.
I cannot fully comprehend what's this love about until I had encountered the amazing-God loving power.
Show me someone whose willing to pay His cost by losing a Son just to carry the weight of the World.
